Baidu Website Indexing: From Zero to Ranking – Case Study
London Medical Exchange
London Medical Exchange is a UK-based healthcare training and development organisation that helps doctors, nurses, and medical students improve their skills through courses, clinical observerships, conferences, and consultancy services.
It also focuses on building strong medical exchange and training links between the UK and China, offering programmes and partnerships that support international collaboration.
Client's Requirement
The client contacted our marketing manager, Sally, to discuss enhancing their website’s digital presence in China.
Challenges of the Project
- Website Not Accessible in China: Our team conducted a thorough technical audit of the company website and found that it’s not accessible in China, despite having been operating in the Chinese market for a few years. We tested the accessibility and speed from over 60+ cities in mainland China, and the returning code is 610 not accessible. It’s shocking, but we’ve come across many similar cases, as the clients’ teams are based outside China and there isn’t any dedicated IT staff who is well-versed in the website infrastructure required for the mainland China market.
- Zero Website Presence on Baidu Ecosystem: Even though the client has lots of collaborations with well-known medical schools and hospitals in China, and there are many press releases. However, the client’s website is never mentioned, and it doesn’t have any presence on Baidu.
Chinese Copywriter's Approach
- Our team supported the launch of the Chinese website using a near-China server, providing the flexibility and speed the client required.
- We conducted crawling tests, in-depth technical audits, and a comprehensive Baidu SEO audit to ensure full accessibility and strong technical performance.
- We also set up the site in Baidu Webmaster Tools, accelerated indexing, and carried out marketing within the Baidu ecosystem to strengthen the website’s credibility.
Result
- The website is now indexed on Baidu and ranks for several relevant keywords.
- Baidu AI is citing the brand name and the website, increasing brand visibility and trust.
- In addition, our news articles and influencer posts about the business are featured and ranked on Baidu News and the Baidu App.
Notes: Maintaining consistent rankings on Baidu requires ongoing effort. The screenshots showing Baidu website indexing and rankings were taken within 3–5 months after the project was completed.
Since this was a small, two-week project, the results you see now may differ from those shown in the screenshots.
